Delivering more
Heading
While posties make sure every letter and parcel reaches the doorstep, our professional drivers are the unsung heroes who kickstart the day. They move letters and parcels to every delivery office in the UK, ready for sorting when the posties begin their shifts. By picking up and dropping off large volumes of deliveries at a variety of sites nationwide, they form an essential network that keeps the mail moving and our communities connected.
Our national distribution team in numbers
Class 1 and Class 2 LGV drivers
To apply, you must hold a valid UK Large Goods Vehicle Class 1 licence (C+E), or Class 2 (C) registered to your current address, with less than 6 penalty points. You should also be comfortable working a variety of shifts on a rotational rota, including night driving, weekends, and bank holidays.
MGV drivers
- Their routes might take them to mail centres, parcel hubs, super hubs, or local delivery offices, where they’ll load and unload their vehicle. They also handle customer collections, picking up larger deliveries from a location chosen by the customer.
- Although they often work solo, they’re never alone. Their manager, fellow drivers and colleagues all stay in touch and support each other, so they always have someone looking out for them.
- We run a 24/7 operation, but while there’s plenty of weekend and evening driving, we ensure our drivers never have to stay overnight. Their last delivery is always scheduled so they can make it home when they’re done.
