Specialist role, new opportunity

Based in Crick, this is an exciting opportunity to specialise as a Trailer Technician. You’ll focus on maintaining and repairing our trailer fleet, ensuring safety, compliance and reliability at all times. This role is ideal for technicians looking to broaden their expertise or move into a more specialised area of fleet maintenance.

Management Career Paths

The Workshop Manager ensures top Fleet performance, meeting Operator requirements efficiently and cost-effectively. This role drives cultural change and oversees workshop performance in a specific area, focusing on safety, legal compliance, cost, and stakeholder satisfaction. Key responsibilities include managing a team of Vehicle Technicians, meeting safety and legal targets, optimising maintenance services and costs, and ensuring industry standards. Essential skills are stakeholder management, influencing, relationship-building with Trade Unions, leadership, and flexibility for multiple shifts and travel. Experience in dispersed maintenance operations, managing people and leading teams through change, and knowledge of vehicle compliance and road transport legislation are crucial. Candidates need a full driving license and IMI Level 3 qualification in Light or Heavy vehicle maintenance and repair.

The Area Fleet Maintenance Manager (AFMM) plays a crucial role in delivering the Fleet vision and driving cultural change among maintenance teams to ensure efficient, commercial decision-making. They oversee Fleet Workshop performance in their region, focusing on safety, legal compliance, people, stakeholder satisfaction, and financial metrics. Responsibilities include managing fleet maintenance, optimising costs, ensuring legal and safety compliance, and deploying new business strategies. The AFMM handles multiple workshop sites, manages a significant budget and headcount, and drives commercial income growth. You’ll need leadership experience, as well as stakeholder management, financial acumen, and knowledge of vehicle compliance and road transport legislation. A full driving license and relevant qualifications are also required.

Training and Development

We’re committed to helping our technicians grow, develop, and thrive throughout their careers.

Whether you’re starting out or looking to specialise, we’ll support your development every step of the way.

Our structured Level 2 Development Programme gives you access to a 12-month digital training portal, allowing you to take control of your learning. You can self-book onto courses that build your skills across key areas, completing the programme with an IMI assessment to help you achieve a Level 3 equivalent technician qualification.

As the industry evolves, we ensure you stay ahead. We offer EV training at IMI Level 3 and Level 4, alongside manufacturer-led programmes tailored to our fleet. This includes hands-on learning tied to real-world projects, such as our EV HGV trials, giving you direct experience with the latest technology.

For those looking to expand into heavy vehicles, our HGV upskilling pathway provides a clear route to progression. You’ll start with an intensive six-day external course, followed by ongoing manufacturer training to deepen your technical knowledge and practical expertise.
